The arcade
machine at home
It had game cardridges of 400 MB for example the
biggest N64 card has 16 MB and the biggest SNES card only has 8 MB .
Unfortunately the cards cost like 400 MB , they
cost near 400 dollar a card ( one dollar a megabyte) This system was launched
is 1990 by SNK
, It was a direct arcade system only put in a box and the game cards were
also just put into a big video tape sized box , But the quality is perfect
(This console has made it to now even in the hard 32 bit world) every die
hard gamer has one at home .. a few years later SNK started making games
on cd and created NEO GEO CD
to make the games less expensive (on cd more in the prize class of Playstation
games or Saturn games) and more affordable for normal persons (you didn't
had to rob a bank to buy a game anymore) , But for the real purist NEO
GEO games must be on a card
SNK made some real good fighting games and real
good shooters (They did not make much puzzlers or platform games-but you
don't have them in the arcades also) and a few very good sport sims and
a few car racing sims (one or two)
A few is not ment negative here There are not much
NEO GEO games BUT if there is NEO GEO written on the CD or it's a card
as big as a video cassette IT IS a good game
at least not as much as the more common game consoles
, but there is no crap between (that means no uninsprired platformers or
fighters or other crap)
Unfortunately the NEO GEO is just like the PC-Engine
very hard to get - as most good things in life
So hard to get that when you see one under the
200 dollar with a game included .. GET IT!
